Mast cells in our bodies contain and release histamine when they are injured or "provoked". It has been found by researchers that there is a mast cell response to non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation in many people -- even those unaware they are being affected. This map offers links to a variety of studies on the subject as well as a link to the important relevant chapter of the BioInitiative Report.
